A Hampshire charity will be holding an exhibition event in Romsey on May 25, to help normalise people talking about their mental health.

Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health was set up in December 2020 by Jude Price, 62, who lives in Andover. She had had her own hardships and struggles with mental health, using walking and talking as ways to help cope.

Jude set up Walk N Talk, which now runs three weekly walks in Andover, one in Basingstoke and one in Romsey, aimed at getting people out and about, exercising and allowing them to talk things through and discuss matters which may or may not be on their minds.

The charity aims to help normalise discussions about mental health and give anyone the confidence to speak up and talk things through should they be struggling visibly, or silently.

Jude completed a walk from Land's End to John O'Groats in 2022, and will be using a number of the photos taken from the hike during a photo exhibition held at Romsey Town Hall on Saturday, May 25.

The photo exhibition will be supported by Jude talking about her experiences with her own mental health, and explanations of the photos which will be on display. Following the exhibition and talk, attendees will be invited to join her for a walk around Romsey. The event will run from 3pm until 7pm.

Jude said: ""We are on a mission to help normalise conversations about mental health and eradicate stigma. It is ok not to be ok at times. We combine Mental Health First Aid Walk Leaders with free to attend weekly walks across various Hampshire locations.

"Whether you're in need of somebody to talk to, want to learn more about mental health or just fancy getting outside with others, Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health's doors are open to you.  Take your first steps to a brighter future."

The exhibitions are drop in sessions, which will be held from 3pm to 4pm, and again from 5pm to 7pm. Jude's talk about the photos and her personal journey will take place between 4pm and 5pm, and the walk around Romsey will take place from 5pm to 6pm, although both of these events require registration prior to arrival.
