Applications for Britains best home sewers has started, as applications for the next series of The Great British Sewing Bee have opened.

The Great British Sewing Bee is a BBC reality show that began airing on BBC Two in April 2013. In the show, talented amateur sewers compete to be named "Britain's best home sewer" in a show format similar to The Great British Bake Off.

The series is casting for its eleventh series, as it looks for the next collection of contestants. Judged by Patrick Grant and Esme Young and presented by Kiell Smith-Bynoe, the closing date for series 11 applications is 8pm on Wednesday, May 15.

Showrunners are looking for anyone with a love and passion for sewing and creating clothes, with would-be applicants needing experience in making different types of garments, and the challenges involved in making womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, although it is not a necessity to have made every type of garment and used every technique.

Applicants are encouraged to include as much information about themselves and their sewing careers as possible, as well as photos of pieces they have previously made.

Applications are open to everyone although you must be 18 or over on January 1 2024, and a UK resident including Isle of Man and Channel Islands.

If an applicant has been successful to the next stage they will contacted by a member of the production team. If an applicant has not heard from the production team by Friday, June 28, then unfortunately the application has not been successful on this occasion.

The tenth series of the Sewing Bee will be returning to BBC One on Tuesday, May 21 at 9pm and will also be available to stream and catch up on BBC iPlayer.
