PLANNERS have permitted new extensions at a Romsey house.

Emily Dixon's scheme for single storey front and rear extensions, first floor side extension, and alterations to access after the demolition of a garage was approved for the property in Carisbrooke Court.

It was unanimously permitted by Test Valley Borough Council's southern area planning committee on Tuesday, April 2.

The proposal got one public objection and another from Romsey Town Council's planning committee.

No speakers gave deputations to the committee in support or objection.

The planning officers' report said: “The proposal is acceptable from a biodiversity and trees perspective and the proposed changes to the access are not harmful to the highway. As a result, the application is recommended for permission as it would fully accord with the polices of the Test Valley Borough Revised Local Plan (2016).”

Cllr Janet Burnage said: “It will have an impact on the neighbour, but I can see that the applicant wants to improve the house to meet their requirements.”

Cllr Sandra Gidley added: “There is a significant amount of screening. It won't have an overly significant impact.”
