A Romsey business has been recognised at the Camping & Glamping Awards 2023, being named the second-best family campsite in the South East of England.

Gambledown Farm was runner-up in South East regional category, only behind Ninham Country Holidays on the Isle of Wight.

The awards are organised by Campsites.co.uk, recognising a variety of campsites, glamping sites and caravan parks.

Discussing the awards the site said: "From the simplest, tucked-away camping spots to family-friendly holiday parks with swimming pools and luxurious glamping sites with the oh-so-welcome hot tubs. There's something for everyone in every corner of the country - all going above and beyond for their guests.

"This year we've found new favourites with spectacular views, made friends with yet more alpacas, and loved the growing variety of food truck treats. It truly is great outdoors!"

Gambledown Farm runner-up for best family campsite in South East

On its Campsites.co.uk profile, Gambledown Farm is described as offering "a family-friendly rustic adventure with four off-grid safari tents".

It adds: "Set in Hampshire, very close to the edge of the New Forest. Don't let that fool you, however, as there are fabulous farm animals to meet, beaches close by, 15 minutes in the car takes you to Paulton's Park, and even Stonehenge is a short drive away."

The farm itself stretches over 270 acres and the glamping safari tents are stretched across the site with views over the Hampshire Downs and Salisbury Plain.

Each tent sleeps six and includes en-suite facilities, a log burning stove, kitchen area with sink, gas hob and cool box.

Additionally, there is a barbecue outside to make use of if desired.

The profile goes on: "Located on a private road, it's fantastically safe for playing children who won't have to worry about passing traffic.

"Surrounding Gambledown is woodland and a living willow tunnel that brings alive the beauty of a stay in nature."
