A WINCHESTER resident is calling out to anybody in the area who might be missing a tent after one blew into his back garden.

With winds up to 18mph on Friday, May 12, one surprised family came home to a tent in their garden that had blown across the fence.

Despite posting photos of the pop-up Trespass tent on Facebook, Niall Burke, of Fromond Road in Weeke, is yet to re-unite the camping gear with its owner.

Niall, 41, said: “We were very surprised especially as my wife and son were preparing to go to the Big Sleep Out at the cathedral. They were not allowed to use tents but the timing was oddly convenient.

“We live on the top end of Fromond Road and we’ve got no idea how far it came from. I know it isn’t our immediate neighbours to the side and the back is the Trussell Crescent flats.

“My post has caused some amusement to random people that I messaged because someone replied as a joke that it belonged to them.”
