SHAWFORD Springs Care Home in Otterborne has launched a new, monthly Memory Box Foundation Community Café to support residents’ relatives and friends.

Launched on Thursday, September 14, the community café runs on the second Thursday of every month from 2pm to 4pm. It will give people living with Dementia and those who care for them an opportunity for a relaxing afternoon of tea, chat and reminiscing.

There are more than 40 boxes and more than 20 different themes with something for everyone to enjoy, including childhood, entertainment, home and garden, seaside, and holidays.

General Manager of Shawford Springs, Julie House, said: “We want to help and support relatives, friends and members of our local community who have loved ones who are living with dementia. The café will be a great way to relax, make friends, and enjoy reminiscing.
