A WINCHESTER hairdresser has been awarded crowned the best local salon.

After winning ‘best new salon’, in the Salon Awards last year, Giuseppe Manco, in Staple Gardens, claimed the trophy for this year’s best local salon.

Owner Mr Manco has more than 20 years' experience, including training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. He opened the salon in 2021 in the hope of bringing Italian flair to Winchester.

Giuseppe, 36, said: "Winning a competition means a lot to us here at GM. It’s a way to begin a new chapter and look ahead, inspiring new ideas and allowing us to put our best foot forward. We opened GM two years ago and have been lucky enough to have achieved a lot of recognition and have a few awards to our name.

“We ensure that we maintain high standards and a professional attitude. This is reflected in the fact that our clients give us glowing recommendations and we have a large number of referrals who are attracted by our calm approach and relaxing atmosphere.

“As a result, we're now looking for more stylists and assistants. We're very proud of what we've achieved."

The Salon Awards encourage hairdressers to compete at local level to elevate businesses and reward deserving individuals and teams.
