A MENTAL health advocate who was made redundant from her banking role in London says helping sufferers has been the best thing she has ever done.

Justine Markley, who formerly worked as the senior project manager for HSBC, has been helping the likes of charities, schools, councils and construction workers with their mental health.

Justine, 37, from Colden Common, has set up her own business called Believe You Deserve It, Believe In You and she has been delivering workshops to combat stress, anxiety, well-being, resilience and suicide prevention.

Now she wants to help as many people as possible.

She said: "I had a past where I dealt with stress and anxiety in the banking industry. I got made redundant, so I decided to focus on my health and well-being. I started meditating and getting out in nature, then I trained neurologic programming and emotional freedom tapping and understanding mental health.

"I decided to use my passion and own experiences from professional learning to help other people."

Since embarking on her own mental well-being journey, Justine has taught at virtual schools throughout Hampshire, with teachers giving positive feedback on how sessions have helped children see things in a positive way.

Justine's journey started two years ago, where she was taught how to look after her well-being by getting out in nature, meditating, learning to ground her energy, understanding her emotional triggers and doing daily activities that bring her joy. She now wishes to help others who are struggling with their own mental battles.

She said: "I have had to heal myself in order to help other people. I've had to learn everything professionally and personally in my mental health journey in order to be able to be a good advocate because I can now step into anyone's shoes and know how to help them and that's because I have lived the experiences to be able to help others.

"To be able to change peoples lives by helping them to heal their suffering, you can't put a price on that.

"To know that it's making a difference to people and understanding their emotions, triggers and trauma, I couldn't do anything else. It's very powerful."

Justine also does one-to-one sessions. To contact Justine, visit her website believeyoudeserveit.co.uk and Instagram page: @believeyourwellbeingmatters
