A WINCHESTER student has been hit with a big fine after travelling on the railway without a ticket.
Chessent Smith, 21, of Sparkford Road, West Hill, was caught on a train at London Waterloo station on November 17, a court heard.

At North East London Magistrates' Court at Romford in Essex the case against him was proved under the single justice procedure.
He was fined £220 and ordered to pay compensation of £40.20 with a £34 victim surcharge with £160 costs. The penalties must be paid by June 10.
