A TURKISH barber shop has been evicted from its city centre home after falling into debt with creditors.
Excellent Cut Winchester was turfed out of the Parchment Street property after landlords initiated legal proceedings to repossess the site.
A notice which recently appeared on the shutters of the vacant store said the landowner, Maceberry Ltd, had instructed agents to change the locks by reason of 'security, debt and abandonment'.

A spokesperson for Mellersh & Harding, the commercial property company tasked with handling the eviction, said: "We served what was necessary to repossess the unit a couple of weeks ago and went through the necessary legal process to do so. It'll be let up very soon - nothing is finalised but there has been a lot of interest from businesses and local people who are keen to start trading from the shop."

Excellent Cut Winchester has been trading since 2019 and is one of several barber shops registered to Shapol Agha on Companies House.
Mr Agha is also the listed director of Newbold Systems Ltd, the tenant referred to by the notice stuck on the city centre store.
The Chronicle has approached Mr Agha for comment.
