A WINCHESTER man has been disqualified and fined for careless driving and having no insurance.

John Christopher Gibbs, 34, crashed into a line of traffic after it had stopped to let a bus pull away from a bus stop on Romsey Road in Winchester on November 20 2020.

Gibbs, of Wavell Way, Stanmore, was also driving a 07-reg Vauxhall Astra with no insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence, a court was told.

As well as a six-month disqualification Gibbs was fined a total of £1,100 for the three offences as well as a £110 victim surcharge and £110 costs.

The charges were proved in Gibbs' absence at Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
