EMERGENCY services were called to help a person from their first floor flat in Winchester.
Fire crews from Eastleigh, Winchester and the aerial ladder platform vehicle from St Mary’s supported South Central Ambulance Service paramedics at an incident in Northlands Drive today (Tuesday, January 4).

Firefighters were called at 12.30pm to assist with the extrication of a casualty from a block of flats, and once retrieved, they handed the casualty over to paramedics.
Crews left the scene at 1.20pm.

A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "There was no fire, crews were just there to help ambulance with getting the casualty out of the property."
A spokesperson from SCAS said: "We were called to that location today to a medical emergency. We sent a specialist practitioner and an ambulance crew to the scene to assess and treat the patient. The team treated the patient at the scene and with the assistance of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, who took the patient to the ambulance where the care was continued onto Royal Hampshire County Hospital"
