OWSLEBURY Parish Council has supported plans by a Winchester zoo to renovate a public bridleway.
Marwell Zoo has submitted plans, backed by parish councillors, to renovate Bridleway 20 which runs from Colden Common to the entrance of the park.
The 290m route is well used by walkers and horse-riders alike but is becoming progressively degraded.
Parish clerk, Michael Cleary, said: “The Council is supportive of Marwell’s application for renovating the bridleway, but intend to discuss with Marwell the possibility of integrating this work with much needed improvements to other rights of way leading to or around the wildlife park.”
