THE new Jacksplace extension at Naomi House Children's Hospice has received a boost.

Southern Gas Networks has donated £9,000 to the Sutton Scotney-based charity to help with the scheme.

The firm raised the money at its recent 'charity day', and the company matched every pound raised by employees to double the pot.

SGN communications adviser Nick Hemsley said: "It was a great effort by our staff to raise the cash, and good fun at the same time.

"There was car washing, dressing up, dressing down, sponsored walks and cycling, shaves and even waxes."

The money will go towards the £12m hospice extension, which is designed to cater for older children and teenagers.
