VOLUNTEERS are needed to help clear scrub at Shawford Down.
Conservation volunteers will be hosting a number of sessions, funded by grants from Winchester City Council and Compton and Shawford Parish Council, in order to improve the local area.
Duties include cutting back dogwood, blackthorn and other scrub from the chalk downland to stop it out-competing the natural flora.
The next dates are Tuesday, February 3, Saturday, February 7, Tuesday, February 17, and Saturday, March 7.
Anyone able to provide their own clothing and tools is urged to contact John Wilkinson.
