ORGANISERS in Twyford have raised a huge £4,000 for the village’s Poppy Appeal this year.
Mark and Liz Harrison said the extra boost on last year’s total of £2,750 was largely due to the national response to the WW1 centenary commemorations.
“To everyone who contributed to the local collection for this year’s Poppy Appeal, a huge vote of thanks from the Royal British Legion and all their beneficiaries,” they said.
“With sincere thanks to you all - you know who you are!”
