A FAMILY-run coffee shop has revealed its opening date as it opens its doors at the Station Mill in Alresford.

As previously reported, The Roasting Party announced that it would close in December last year.

The company, which also has two cafes in London and an online shop, has made the move to focus on “roasting exceptional coffee”.

Hampshire coffee shop chain Josie’s announced it will be taking over and is due to open on Monday, March 18.

The family-run business already has cafes in Winchester, Bishop’s Waltham, Romsey, Petersfield and, most recently, Chandler’s Ford.

A post on Facebook reads: "It’s happening…Josie's Alresford opens its doors on Monday!

"Josie has given it the green light, and we’re thrilled to welcome you to our sixth café.

"We can't wait to become part of the amazing Alresford community, sharing our love for great food and great coffee with you all.

"See you Monday, 9am."

Luke Searle, Josie's operations manager, previously said: “We are absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to open in Alresford.

“It’s all happened quite quickly. We weren’t planning to open more than one Josie’s it’s all just happened as and when an opportunity has come up. We are not actively looking.

“We’ve had a really positive response from everyone. Josie’s had an eye on Alresford for about 10 years. It’s a beautiful market town that suits our demographic and bridges the gap between all our cafes.

“The Roasting Party supplies our coffee so it’s a mutual relationship we have had for many years. We’ll put the Josie’s touch on the space but we’ll be keeping much of it the same. It’s a beautiful building and we love what the Roasting Party has done with it.”

Party at the Mill had  been operating at the Station Mill, next to the railway station, for two years and originally received objections due to concerns over its long opening hours and alcohol licence.

Party at the Mill previously posted on Instagram: “To all our wonderful customers, we have an important update to share. All good things must come to an end, and that time has arrived for Party at the Mill. As we bid farewell to this chapter, it’s not the end but a new beginning. Stepping back from The Mill will allow us to focus on what we do best - roasting exceptional coffee - and we’re excited for what lies ahead.

“Our friends at Josie’s will be taking over in Alresford, ensuring your favourite Roasting Party coffee remains a staple. We’ve had an absolute blast over the last three years, and want to thank each and every customer who has partied here with us. Special recognition to our incredible team who made Party at the Mill what it is today!

“Here’s to the next chapter – Josie’s, over to you. Big love, The Roasting Party Team.”
