SAM Wilson led the charge as Steve Claridge’s Salisbury went goal crazy in the Sydenhams Premier Division tonight.

The former Eastleigh and Winchester City striker bagged four goals in a 9-1 dismantling of Bournemouth Poppies, lifting the Whites to third.

Watched by another large crowd of 582 at the Ray Mac, Salisbury were 4-0 up at half-time through Calum Brockway, Brandon Mundy, Wilson and Ashley Jarvis.

Wilson hit the woodwork early in the second half and, after Jarvis had scored again, went on to bury a second-half hat-trick.

Diop Evans briefly reduced the deficit at 6-1 and new signing Jack Maloney had the last say for Salisbury late on.

News was not so good for Salisbury’s neighbours Bemerton Heath Harlequins who went down 4-1 at Andover Town.

Suhael Odeh and Sam Pekun helped themselves to two a brace apiece for Andover before the Harlequins pulled one back in the second minutes of stoppage time.

Included in Andover’s line-up was ex-AFC Totton midfielder Liam Gilbert, signed from Winchester City.

Neil Benson’s side are now second in the table, a point adrift of Horndean who remain in pole position after beating Alresford Town 2-0.

Robbie Tambling gave Horndean the lead and, by the time Nathan Kirby doubled it on the hour, Alresford were down to ten men.

The Magpies had Grant Young dismissed after 55 minutes for a poor tackle on Tambling.

Sholing fell behind to a 59th-minute Stefan Penny goal at Hamworthy United, but took just a couple of minutes to haul themselves back on terms via a Kev Brewster penalty.

The Boatmen went on to clinch it 2-1 when substitute Lewis Kelly broke clear in the 89th-minute, making it four straight league and cup wins for the Dave Diaper’s men.
