FAREHAM Town raised a fabulous £265 in a bucket collection for the injured Matt Page during their 2-2 draw with Brockenhurst at Cams Alders on Saturday.

The young defender, pictured, suffered kidney damage against Fawley AFC in the FA Vase two weeks ago and has thanked the “non-stop support and consideration” he has received from all the players, staff and supporters at the club.

On the field, Town fell behind in the 12th minute when Brock’s Jacques Bernard was left unmarked by the penalty spot to tap home.

Will Tickle sent a dipping effort over the bar as the Badgers came close to doubling their lead, but Fareham were level on 41 minutes when former Pompey starlet George Colson netted his first goal for the Creeksiders with the aid of a deflection.

Two minutes later Town edged ahead when Liam Robinson beat Rory Anderson with a low drive through a crowded area. But back came Brock on the hour as Daryll Phillips capitalised on a weak back pass with Town ’keeper Luke Hutchings in no man’s land.

Fourth-placed Brock return to action at home to Hamworthy United on Saturday.
