SOUTHAMPTON’S biggest and longest running indie rock and roll club night has a new home from next month.

After last week’s news that Lennon’s nightclub is to close, the popular weekly Psychedelia night will move to The Joiners on St Mary Street every Saturday night from November 5.

“We finish at Lennon’s then we’re straight over to The Joiners; there’s no gap” promoter Tom Dyer told The Southern Daily Echo

“It’s fantastic to be moving to such a famous venue and we’re delighted that everything that's great about the night will carry on as before, the music, the bands, even the drinks and entry prices.

“It's the people and the vibe that make the evening, but to add The Joiners to the mix makes it an exciting new era.

“We continue with two fantastic bands, Hidden Charms and The Vryll Society, who are both on a huge UK tour and are two acts we’re really excited about.

“While we’re looking forward to the future we still have our last night at Lennon’s on October 29 for which there's some more big news still to come. It's going to be chaos!”

Tom also manages up and coming Southampton bands Cassava, who sold out The Joiners last month, and Fever, who support Yak at the Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms on Wednesday.

“The local music scene is really good at the moment, it's probably the best it's been for a while. The music is good, bands are watching and supporting each other and so many are out and about getting the Southampton sound across the country.”

The final Psychedelia club night at Lennon’s is on Saturday October 29 before opening at The Joiners on November 5 with Hidden Charms and Vryll Society. Fever support Yak at The Wedgewood Rooms on Wednesday.
