HARBOUR Lights is playing host to a special screening of Me and Orson Welles plus a satellite question and answer session with director Richard Linklater and actors Zac Efron, Christian McKay and Claire Danes.
It’s 1937 and a bored teenager (Zac Efron) bluffs his way into a part in what would be Orson Welles’ groundbreaking production of Julius Caesar.
Based on Robert Kaplow's novel, Me and Orson Welles recreates a long-lost New York theatrical landmark – The Mercury – and the creative crucible of Welles’ career. A live satellite Q&A from The Gate in Notting Hill will follow the preview screening at 6.20pm on Thursday.
Tickets: 0871 704 2060 or visit picturehouses.co.uk.
n EMMA is a churlish pig breeder whose farm is in debt in Emma’s Bliss, next week’s offering from Southampton University’s The Phoenix.
She has only weeks before it is auctioned but salvation comes in the unlikely form of Max, a terminally ill car salesman, who literally crashes into her life.
What ensues is a charming, heart-felt tale of romance and loss, brilliantly acted and full of wry humour being screened on Wednesday.
