A Hampshire golfer has become only the fifth person ever to win the Logan Trophy three times.

Stuart Archibald, who is based at Test Valley Golf Club, secured his latest victory with a single-shot win over 2023 champion David Corben at Hadley Wood Golf Club on Sunday, July 5.

Archibald said: "I'm surprised I managed to keep myself in contention as I've been rusty.

"I'd only played one big tournament this year but I'm delighted to get over the line as I know fellow Hampshire golfer Alan Mew had won three titles, so it was always a goal of mine to see if I could equal his and maybe get four in the future."

He led by three after two rounds, and a final round 71 (-1) was enough to seal a third title, despite Corben's final-day 68 (-4).

The win marks Archibald’s second consecutive Logan Trophy and third overall.

He now sets his sights on next year’s competition, which will take place at his former club, Blackmoor.

Archibald said: "Next year is at my old club Blackmoor.

"I love that place and it'll be great to have a few people watching that I know, and to have a good go at it."
