Southbrook U13 Galaxy 0 - 3 Romsey Town Youth U13 Panthers

Romsey Town Youth under 13 Panthers finished their season on a high this week, with a hard fought victory over tough opponents Southbrook Galaxy in the Tyro Challenge Cup final.

Held at Romsey Town FC’s AEC Protection Ground, the beautiful weather meant there was a great turnout of supporters for both teams and a packed crowd to cheer all the boys on.

The Panthers took an early lead straight from the kick off, which gave them the confidence to relax and play their football. This resulted in them building a 3-0 lead by half time. In the second half, Southbrook came out fighting and put Romsey under a lot of pressure, but the Panthers managed to defend resolutely to keep them at bay. The heat really started have an effect on both sides towards the end, but Romsey managed to hold on and keep a clean sheet until the full time whistle sounded, making them the cup winners for the 2023/24 season.

It’s been a great season for the Panthers, who are also guaranteed a top two finish in Tyro League Division 1, and the coaches are proud of how all the boys have taken on board what they have worked on in training throughout the season, proving that hard work and practice does make a difference.
