Chineham Tigers 0 - 8 Romsey Town Youth Lionesses
On a sunny Saturday with warm temperatures for the players to cope with, Romsey Town Youth under 15 Lionesses came out on top against Chineham Tigers in the Hampshire Girls Youth League Plate final.

Romsey started strong and scored two in the first ten minutes, through a penalty from Keira Parnell and a fantastic solo effort from Emma Taylor. This settled any early nerves and enabled the team to play without fear, demonstrating their strong, possession based game. Goals continued to flow and efforts from Hollie Weston, Madi Booth (2) and Summer Ballingall (2) were all delivered before half time.

The second half was more competitive as, due to the parity rule across the league, Chineham increased the number of players on the pitch, and the warm temperatures also continued. Caitlin Brown added another for the Lionesses midway through the second half to conclude the scoring.
The Tigers were courageous throughout and played to the end with a smile. A great result for Romsey that was well deserved and played in the right way.

Totton & Eling 3 - 0 Romsey Town Youth Cougars
The following day, the Romsey Town Youth under 14 Cougars were up against Totton & Eling Youth in the Tyro Challenge Shield final.

The Cougars started off a little slow and were second-guessing themselves, which put them at a disadvantage right from the beginning. Totton & Eling managed to score and take the lead within the first 15 minutes and had controlled the game up until then. However, for the next 40 minutes, Romsey regained control and played some really beautiful football all over the pitch. They had some near misses, hitting the woodwork and creating numerous chances, but unfortunately just couldn't put them away.

Towards the end of the second half, with only ten minutes to go, Totton & Eling gained some confidence and scored a goal from a blocked ball that fell perfectly for their striker, who volleyed it into the net. At that point, Romsey lost a bit of confidence and shape, which led to them conceding another goal in the last seconds of the game.

Managers Gary Weston and Kevin Booth said that despite the loss, they are incredibly proud of the team. "We've had three players who were sick this week and on antibiotics, but they still gave it their all on the field. When we took over the team last April, there were a few players who were unsure if they wanted to continue for another season. However, we worked incredibly hard throughout the summer, focusing on team building and enjoying fun tournaments. We even made it to the finals and semi-finals, which was a huge achievement for a group that had previously struggled to get out of the group stages. We also made it to the final of the league cup and reached round four of the Hants cup. With three games left in the season, promotion to Division Two is within our reach."

This weekend, the Cougars will be facing the same team again, but they're confident that this time they will be better prepared.
