Eastleigh were denied a 4-3 win at National League rivals Boreham Wood by a penalty eight minutes into stoppage time, the host club's third spot kick of the game.
Spitfires led 2-0 through Jake Taylor and Enzio Boldewijn, but saw their half-time lead cancelled out by three Wood strikes in 18 minutes.
Paul McCallum made it 3-3 and one minute from the end teenage substitute Malachi Dotse looked to have won it for Eastleigh.
But with virtually the final kick of an eight-goal thriller, Erico Sousa tucked away Boreham Wood's third penalty of the match to make it 4-4.
