COMPTON Football Club’s under 18s girls team has a new sponsor.

Spectators might spot a new name on the shirts if they’re down at Shepherds Lane or supporting an away game for Compton FC.

The partnership hopes to encourage more people to get involved in local sports and promote the benefits of sustainable transportation.

Jake Hudson, regional sales manager at Evec, said:  "We are delighted to be partnering with Compton FC and supporting the club's efforts to build a strong, thriving community around football.

"As a company committed to sustainability and community engagement, we believe this partnership is a perfect fit for us. It’s also a sponsorship close to my own heart, as community football is a big thing in the Hudson household, with my mother being an official referee in Lincolnshire.

“As a young lad watching her do her thing, it was disgusting seeing some of the behaviour towards women in the game, and unfortunately, this is extremely common at all levels. This under 18 girls team sponsorship allows us to do something about it at the grassroots level and promote the game for all."

Compton FC aims to provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in football and develop their skills while fostering community and friendship. With teams including a first team, veterans, under 18 girls, under 12 boys, under 11 boys, under 11 girls and a walking football team.
