Paul McCallum notched a hat-trick as Eastleigh came from behind to thrash promoted National League rivals Ebbsfleet United 5-2 at the Silverlake Stadium last night/Tuesday.
The Spitfires fell behind to a Darren McQueen goal early on, but by half-time were 2-1 up with McCallum twice on target, his equaliser coming in the 17th minute and his second five minutes before the break.
A third Eastleigh goal by Scott Quigley seven minutes after the break was key - the Spitfires going on to add two more goals, McCallum completing his hat-trick before Chris Maguire completed the scoring from the penalty spot.
McQueen grabbed a second late goal for Ebbsfleet, who had a player sent off before the end.
The win was Eastleigh's third in four matches and lifts them into the play-off positions.
