Welsh Fire became the first team to beat Southern Brave women at the Ageas Bowl since the Hundred started in 2021.

Welsh Fire dominated the first innings. After being asked to bat they posted 165 for 3 from their hundred balls.

The Southern Brave bowlers were dispatched to all parts of the Ageas bowl in an 80 run opening stand.

England opener Tammy Beaumont contributed 26 until she was stumped by Georgia Adams on the 44th ball.

Incoming batter Laura Harris continued the onslaught adding 20 from seven balls, until she was run out by a spectacular effort from Maia Bouchier, who hit the stumps on the full from the long on boundary.

Opener Hayley Matthews smashed 13 boundaries and looked to take the game away from the Brave until Chloe Tryon held a return catch on the 62nd ball.

In reply Brave took their chase to the wire, Danni Wyatt scored a well made 67(37) until she was caught on the 58th ball.

Bouchier was dismissed stumped for just 9(8) while opener Smriti Mandhana finished 70*, as the Brave fell five short on the final delivery of the match.
