A HOST of Winchester primary schools took over Winchester Sport and Leisure Park for an annual gala.
Friday, June 9 saw the return of Winchester City Penguin’s Primary Schools Gala at the leisure centre in Bar End.

Some 23 schools with more than 230 swimmers, with some swimming competitively for the first time, took to the pool for the 21st annual gala.
A lot of the people involved with the Penguins are volunteers who give up their free time months in advance to prepare for the esteemed event.
Cllr Jan Warwick and deputy mayor Cllr Russell Gordon- Smith attended to show their support and take part in the award presentations.
