Eastleigh has signed midfielder Jake Taylor, who helped Stevenage Borough win promotion as League Two runners-up this past season.

The 31-year-old played regularly for Boro’ having joined the Hertfordshire club from Exeter City, where he made more than 200 league appearances.

Eastleigh was quick to pounce once Taylor was somewhat surprisingly released by Stevenage manager Steve Evans.

Spitfires manager Lee Bradbury said: "Jake’s been somebody I’ve liked for years. He is a great central midfielder with energy and can run the game with his intelligence and his play.

"It’s a marquee signing for the football club to attract somebody that has been promoted out of League Two this season is excellent.”
