KYLE Walker-Peters remains an option for Saints this month.

The Tottenham defender is a player the club know is available and fits the description of what they are after.

Ralph Hasenhuttl made it clear that Cedric’s knee injury won’t change their approach in the transfer window.

He then reiterated the fact that although Walker-Peters is a player he admires, it would have to be a package that fits the club.

Hasenhuttl said: “First of all, I hope our injuries won’t be out for too long and Cedric isn’t as bad as we first thought.

“That doesn’t make a difference if we want to bring somebody in because of an injury.

“We have spoken about alternatives in the full-back positions and we don’t have that much.

“Yan Valery is still not back in training, so it can be.

“Walker-Peters is a player who is playing in this position, but I don’t want to speak about the rumours.

“We have a few players in our mind but in the winter break, it’s not that easy to get somebody.

“If we want to bring somebody in, then they have to be an option for the future. If it’s only a loan, it doesn’t make much sense to me because they will have to learn how we play.

“That can take one month and without a history of not knowing what we do that isn’t so easy.”
