SAINTS loanee Marcus Barnes was forced off the pitch with a hamstring injury during Eastleigh's FA Cup stalemate.
Barnes joined the Spitfires in the summer on a temporary basis to boost his development and get regular game time.
But the striker's match ended early when he had to limp off, with manager Ben Strevens hopeful of a quick recovery.
Strevens said: “Marcus has been bright and lively so hopefully he’ll only be out for a couple of weeks.”
There was another injury blow as Eastleigh's Michael Green had to be stretchered off during their FA Cup stalemate against Welling.
Wing-back Green faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after coming off midway through the second half with a suspected broken ankle.
Strevens said: “It doesn’t look too good, Greener’s been taken for a x-ray and we’re hoping it’s not a break.
“He rolled as he went over but we’ve got to keep our fingers crossed because Greener’s a great lad, one of those you can rely on even when he’s got little injuries. Unfortunately this one looks a longer term one.”
