PLAYERS from all around the south are continuing to feature in the final stages of the Southampton Darts Series.

Week 3 of the autumn competition saw honours go to Steve Harradine from South Harting near Chichester.

The West Sussex player defeated Cosham’s Andy Jenkins 4-3 in the final.

However local player Simon Woolgar, from Millbrook, claimed the Plate honours when he beat Colin Littlecott from Poole 3-0 in that final.

Regular winner Simon Whitlock was beaten by Rich North who went out in his next game at the hands of Jenkins.

Best finish of the evening went to Scott Atwill who checked out on 160. Dan Eade threw finishes of 130 and 115.

Lyndhurst Workmen’s Club League

Top recent finish was a 120 from Coach & Horses B player Gary Winter. Richard Frost of Exbury Club checked out on 115 and Ed Prowting threw a 110 game shot for Coach A.

Eastleigh & Bishopstoke League

Loco A made a late move for the Division 1 title as they beat Eastleigh RIC 5-4 to leapfrog Arrow A, who were without a game.

Churchills are still in the picture – they beat Workies 7-2 with Mark Evans finishing on 111 for the third-placed side.

This week’s shortest leg was a 14-darter by Eastleigh RIC’s Ben Bishop followed by a 15-dart leg from Loco’s Andy Stephens. Charlie Dilley threw a 16-darter for Grantham C.

Bishop’s Waltham & District League

Grapes set the standard for the new season with a 9-0 win over Black Dog A in Division 1.

Martin Chalk hit the highest finish of the night for the early leaders with a 155 and Tony Hall threw a 15-dart leg during the match.

Rob Paice checked out on 121 for Bishop’s Waltham A and teammate Steve Perren finished on 118.

Albert Paddington finished with a 112 shot for Barleycorn A.

Southampton Clubs League

Two ton-plus finishes were thrown this week – a 132 by Bitterne Park B’s Trevor Carr and a 111 from Shirley & Millbrook’s Gary Coen.

Teams wanting to join the forthcoming Bitterne Park Men’s League can attend a meeting at The Roll Call, Netley on Monday evening at 8.30pm.
