EASTLEIGH have announced the signing of Polish goalkeeper Max Stryjek on loan from Sunderland.

The 22-year-old has joined the Spitfires - home to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League tomorrow (12.35pm) - for an initial month-long spell from the League One club.

His arrival follows former Eastleigh No1 Graham Stack's decision to hang up his gloves and move to a new role as head of academy goalkeeping at Watford.

Stryjek moved to Sunderland in 2014 after spending seven years with Polonia Warsaw in his home country.

The 6ft 2in stopper has yet to make his first-team debut for the Black Cats who are owned by former Eastleigh chairman/owner Stewart Donald.

He has enjoyed loan spells at Boston United in 2015 and Accrington Stanley in 2017 - the latter cut short by injury.

Stryjek has been capped at U17, U18, and U19 level for the Polish national side.

Following Stack’s retirement, he will wear the No1 shirt during his stay at the Silverlake.
