Hampshire League - Division 3 North West.

East Tytherley II (155-8) beat Andover V. (151ao).

East Tytherley seconds went into their game with Andover fifths in desperate need of a win to get them off the bottom of North West Division Three. In confident mood skipper Neagle put Andover in to bat on a very damp pitch.

However things did not go to plan with Andover scoring at a quickfire eight runs an over for the first nine. Order was restored by spin kings Kersey and Jeram, who soon tied Andover in knots with their tight line and variations of pace. Kersey finished with figures of 12-4-33-3 and Jeram with figures of 12-3-30-2.

Andover were bowled out for 151, a figure East Tytherley were happy with considering the flying start to Andover's innings.

East Tytherley made hard work of their reply, losing wickets cheaply until partnerships between Marshall and Kersey and Peace and Kersey steadied the ship. There was still much to do when Kersey departed for an excellent 60, with East Tytherley needing 36 runs to record their second victory of the season.

Luckily Peace (25no) was up to the challenge, finishing the match with a trademark six over cow corner, leaving East Tytherley victors by two wickets in the 27th over.
