IT’S all change on the bins in Test Valley this month.
Borough environmental health chiefs are changing colliction days of wheelie bins for some residents from Monday, February 24.
Letters are being sent out to all 16,000 households affected by the changes.
Borough officials say that with hundreds of new homes being built, it is necessary to alter bin rounds.
Borough cabinet spokesman for the environment, Graham Stallard, said: “If we’d have introduced a new round, rather than accommodated known new developments using existing resources, it would have cost the taxpayer an additional £130,000 a year.
“Although it does mean that the day we empty some people’s bins will be changing, it will save a great deal of money over the coming years and help us to keep council tax down.”
Garden waste collections are not affected by the changes.
