PLANS to transform the site of a former fire station into office space have been given the green light.
Councillors approved the move despite concerns raised by a resident about parking issues along the road.
The site in Upper Basingwell Street, Bishop's Waltham, is currently used as accommodation but was once a fire station and the White Swan pub.
They were converted into flats and a three bedroom house back in 2007.
But Winchester City Council planners have now approved a change of use from residential to professional services.
Nine letters of objection were received in relation to parking concerns.
Resident Ivor Bell told of damage to his front door and flower pots from drivers trying to turn around and that he believed the plans would make that situation worse.
He said the plan was unworkable and unenforceable.
But Cllr Robert Shields, chairman of Bishop's Waltham Parish Council told the planning committee that, although concerns over parking, the town needed additional employment and the employer had given assurances.
Agent Simon Goddard said the office would be able to instruct its staff to use the long stay car parking further away and they would not park in this street.
