POLICE are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision near Sutton Scotney.
At around 1.12pm on Wednesday March 14, two vehicles collided at the junction of the A272 and A30 at Hill Farm Cross.
The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Meriva and a Mercedes Sprinter van.
The driver of the Vauxhall Meriva, an 86-year-old man from Andover, was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
He died of his injuries on the morning of Saturday March 17. His next-of-kin are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the Mercedes Sprinter van, a 25-year-old man from Berkhampstead, Hertfordshire, was uninjured.
The junction, a staggered crossroads next to Hill Farm Garage, has a poor safety record with several serious accidents over the years.
An investigation has begun and police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, including anyone with any dashcam footage.
