KINGS Worthy amputee Nigel Wilmott is gearing up for the second meeting of his support group, Best Foot Forward.
He set it up last month with his wife Karen in hopes of helping people like him with advice and tips, as well as for friends and family of amputees, doctors and physiotherapists.
Around ten people attended the first meeting on May 19, and Mr Wilmott, 54, says he is hoping to encourage people from Twyford, Colden Common and Fair Oak to go.
The father-of-three said: “It’s been a slow start, but we have just got to get it out there and get more people to know about it. That’s all we can do.”
An ex-boiler engineer, Mr Wilmott had his leg amputated in 2012, and said he is determined to walk his daughter Hayley down the aisle in August.
The next meeting, at Tubbs Hall in Fraser Road, will be held on Monday, June 16, at 6pm.
