AN Olympic swimmer is coming to Winchester next month for a special children’s event.
Chris Cook will be at River Park Leisure Centre on Sunday, July 22, for an Olympic water sports taster day for eight-14-year-olds.
Chris competed at the 2004 Athens Olympics and was the first Brit to swim the 100m breaststroke in less than one minute.
He will be joined by synchronised swimmer and national gold medallist Kelly Anne Russell who is now coaching athletes at the London games.
There are 150 free places available for diving, synchronised swimming, speed swimming and water polo.
It is part of a series of events organised by Australian swimwear company Zoggs and water sports group Total Swimming.
The event starts at 9am. To book a place call 01962 848 722 or email nicolalaniece@dcleisure.co.uk.
