A Winchester charity is appealing for funding to support a fitness programme for the elderly.
Winchester Live at Home Scheme has been running the 'Fit for Life' programme for the past three years, helping elderly people including those recovering from falls.
The programme has worked with more than 100 people but a three-year government grant has now expired, leaving the charity in need of extra funds.
Claire Morgan, manager of WLAHS, said she was determined to keep the programme running but needed support from the community.
She said: “The scheme has gone from strength to strength. We run two exercise classes and are looking to expand to three and the walking group has tripled in size since it began.
“But we are now looking at how we can continue to fund the scheme and are interested to hear from anyone who could assist with this.”
The charity celebrated the scheme at its AGM in March with Deputy Mayor of Winchester Cllr Frank Pearson cutting a special cake in its honour.
