AN Alresford man has been lumbered with a hefty bill for legal costs after losing an appeal against a noise abatement notice.
Mike Hall, of Colden Lane, Old Alresford, took court action after the city council served the notice last June.
Mr Hall alleged the council failed to follow its own policy, the notice was unnecessary as it related to a one-off party and that he had informed his neighbour.
But magistrates disagreed, dismissed his appeal and ordered him to pay £3,000 costs.
