A GROUP of Winchester writers launched a book of their work earlier this month.
‘Pencils and What-not’, a team of 16 female writers from across the city, unveiled their compendium, Writing and What-not ~ A Miscellany at a launch party at the Hyde Tavern on Friday, December 2.
The group, which formed last year, is made up of poets, playwrights and novelists and all contributed their speciality to the book.
Hilary Gregory, chairman of the group, said: “A book is only half done until it is read and this book contains a selection of our writings, wonderfully put together by a band of amazing, talented and hard working people.”
They presented their work in front of Nicky Morris, the teacher of the creative writing class at Peter Symonds College where the group first came together.
The group are currently planning to publish a second book next year. Writing and What-not ~ A Miscellany is available from P&G Wells book shop in College Street or from www.pencilsandwhat-not.com.
