THE Mayor of Winchester met his match last week when he came face to face with a miniature version of himself.
A group of South Wonston brownies dressed their toy dog mascot Doughnuts in full mayoral outfit before meeting the real thing in Winchester earlier this week.
The group of 20, from 2nd South Wonston Brownies and 1st South Wonston Rainbows, were invited to Abbey House on Monday (Oct 3) evening to meet the Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester and learn about their role in the community.
Therese Godfrey, 'Brownie Owl' of the group, said: “One of the things that we have to do at brownies is to do things within the community and I thought it would be a good idea to take the girls to see the Mayor to find out what he does on behalf of our community, and to learn about Abbey House.”
Mrs Godfrey, of Downs Road, South Wonston, added: “It was a really fun and interesting evening and the girls were given a lovely tour of Abbey House and the Mayor and Mayoress looked after them very well.”
