SEVERAL venues in Winchester have been saluted in the latest Hampshire Hospitality Awards, which is now in its fifth-year.
It includes the Black Rat restaurant, Brasserie Blanc, The Chesil Rectory, Gandhi Indian Cuisine and the Hotel du Vin in Winchester.
They all received the top rating of Superior Quality Assured, which was also given to several rural venues in the district.
The other ones recognised were The Bell Inn at Alresford, Greens Restaurant and Bar in Wickham, Lainston House Hotel at Sparsholt, The Running Horse in Littleton and The Thomas Lord at West Meon.
All the businesses taking part underwent a rigorous ‘mystery shopper’ test and some were checked for how much Hampshire produce is on the menu.
