A WINCHESTER charity has staged a highly successful fund-raising ball.
The Colden Common-based Joe Glover Trust staged the sell-out event at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton.
Some 350 guests attended including the charity’s patron, TV comedian Catherine Tate. The menu was designed and cooked by celebrity chef James Martin.
The auction prize of being the guest of Ms Tate to see her new theatre production and lunch in a luxury hotel in London was sold twice .
The total amount raised is not yet confirmed although the charity hopes to top the amount raised in 2009. The auction this year raised over £8,000 alone.
