THE latest group to be helped by the Cash for Causes campaign is Hampshire Search and Rescue (Hantsar).

Its members brought a vehicle to the Weeke area of Winchester to receive a cheque for £300 on Wednesday, October 13.

The cash will be used to buy a large gazebo for the charity that will offer shelter to volunteers when they are on outdoor rescue missions.

The event was organised by Rowland Rees of Winchester Round Table, which runs the Cash for Causes scheme in partnership with the Hampshire Chronicle.

The money for the year-round scheme comes from the annual fireworks night in Winchester at the River Park Leisure Centre in early November.
