Police are warning businesses to be on the look out for two men who have used counterfeit Irish banknotes to pay for good in several stores in the Winchester area.
The two men with Irish accents entered stores in Kings Worthy and Alresford on Wednesday January 17 and bought low value goods with fake £50 notes displaying the serial number A383952.
Witnesses described the first man as having a shaved head, a nicely shaped beard and was wearing all black clothing including a hoodie under his jacket and Nike trainers with white soles.
The second suspect was described as being slightly shorter than the first with a number 4 grade hair style, an untidy beard and was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a black jacket with black hoodie underneath and another layer of grey clothing underneath, and Nike trainers with white soles.
Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of such a crime or have any information to call 101 quoting 44180021518 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
