OWSLEBURY Parish Council is to set up a new speedwatch team following numerous concerns about speeding vehicles.
Following complaints about superfast cars the council reached out to residents to ask for examples in a bid to develop a database for Hampshire Constabulary and other traffic authorites.
Now they are hoping to launch a similar model to that of neighbouring Twyford which has proved fairly successful in recent years.
Michael Cleary, parish council clerk, said: “Initially SpeedWatch will be quite limited in its scope but if we are successful in our discussions with the traffic authorities we would hope to be able to extend it - in time - to the main routes in the parish.”
Volunteers will be trained, insured and provided with all necessary equipment.
