TWO schools in Winchester have reported positive cases of coronavirus, according to the authority in charge of Hampshire's public health.

Hampshire County Council has published that at least one individual at Kings’ School has tested positive for Covid-19. The county has said that it was made aware on June 24 of the case.

On June 25 the council were told that one person at All Saints Primary School had contracted the virus.

Throughout the county there are at least 57 schools which have currently reported cases of coronavirus to the authority.

The list only covers schools under the remit of the county council and for that reason, no Southampton schools or Independent schools have been included.

Although a school can record a positive case, this does not mean the infected person was in school at the time.

The Winchester district currently only has two schools which have reported cases, but elsewhere Basingstoke has eight and Test Valley has nine.
